White Claw

We loved getting creative with this hero shot for a White Claw ad campaign earlier this year. Shot for 10th anniversary ESPN Body Issue. Creatively directed by Rothco.

Louise Kennedy AW18 Fashion Shoot

We always love working on Louise Kennedy's seasonal fashion collection shoots. Beautiful designs and a great crew always makes for a good day. For the AW18 shoot, we had an extra component in the mix  - an absolutely stunning location. The shoot took place at a private office in Dublin city, with interior design by Roisin and her team at Kingston Lafferty Design. As a photographer, it's always an extra thrill to have access to hidden gem locations for shoots. So enjoyed working on this with Catherine Condell on styling, Zoe Clark on make-up, Michael Leong on hair, Dylan Madden on post-production and our girl Romana Balazova.

Courtney Smith by Barry McCall Photographer for TK Maxx

TK Maxx Maxximum Style

They are always some of the most fun and vibrant shoots we get to do. The 'Maxximum Style' campaign for TK Maxx was no exception. We photographed a great bunch of people, who express themselves through a unique sense of personal style. Such a pleasure to shoot with stylists Courtney Smith and Cathy O'Connor, and creative Jake McCabe from Cüpl Creative. With team Christine Lucignano on make-up, Darren Lacken on hair, styling by Courtney Smith and post-production by Dylan Madden.

World Backup Day with Drobo

Backing up my imagery has always been important for me. However, it was when I started working on my 20 year retrospective PHO20GRAPHY that it really hit home. I was working with thousands of images. We spent months scanning my older photographic prints, and about a year shooting new digital imagery; all this had to be really securely backed up and well organised. Our Drobos were an invaluable part of the whole book production process. I have a lot of images that mean something special to me. However, this is the image that I would consider to be the turning point in my career. It was the first time that I felt my vision had been fully realised and that anything was achievable. That was 28 years ago. Image of Vicky Brannigan at Morgan the Agency, make-up by Fiona Connon, hair James Mooney and styling by Nadia Pfeiffer.
